Waubun-Ogema-White Earth Community Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Elementary Principal at Ogema Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Elementary Principal serves as the educational leader of the building and is responsible for overseeing all operations, personnel, and activities within the elementary school. This position works closely with staff, students, families, and the community to support student achievement and maintain a positive school environment.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Elementary Principal is responsible for leading educational initiatives and overseeing all operations, personnel, and activities within the elementary building. This role involves close collaboration with administrators, staff, students, and the community to address and fulfill the educational needs and goals of the District and its families, as well as to manage public relations responsibilities within the community.
Assignment: At-will Contract
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Acts as the educational leader and administrator of the building, directing and supervising instructional and administrative support personnel.
- Administers all staffing matters, including concerns, evaluations, and personnel actions.
- Observes coordinates and evaluates instructional staff, preparing evaluation reports in line with District guidelines.
- Establishes and communicates building vision and expectations for staff and students.
- Manages daily operations to achieve student educational goals.
- Oversees staff development and curriculum implementation in compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
- Leads recruitment and hiring for all building-level and administrative support staff.
- Facilitates building and site meetings, interpreting and implementing district policies and procedures.
- Monitors and adjusts school programs to ensure compliance with educational mandates.
- Develops and maintains emergency plans and coordinates safety drills.
- Engages in public relations, acting as the spokesperson for building-level issues and fostering community relations.

- Multi-tasking ability and adaptability to changing job conditions.
- In-depth knowledge of curriculum and learning principles across various educational theories and practices.
- Understanding of management, budgeting, and financial operations within educational settings.
- Knowledge of school laws and regulations, including special education requirements.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and evaluate staff effectively.
- Skilled in problem-solving, organizational oversight, and planning at the building level.
- Proficient in public relations and effective communication.
Supervision of Other Employees:
This position includes supervisory responsibilities for all assigned employees within the building.
Working Environment:
Duties are primarily performed in a school setting with minimal risk. Involves occasional exposure to disagreeable conditions during interactions with students and parents.
Physical Demands:
- Stand, use hands dexterously, and reach with hands and arms (1-33% occasionally).
- Walk and sit (34-66% frequently).
- Talk or hear, and physically lift and carry up to 10 pounds (66-100% continuously).
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Master''s Degree in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of three years of administrative experience in supervising instructional programming and staff.
License:
Valid Teaching License and Elementary Principal Licensure required.
