St. John the Baptist Catholic Montessori School Excelsior, MN Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide skilled clerical support for the school administration, math for adolescent students and special projects is resource to the staff, school families, and volunteers. Statement on Working for the Catholic Church: Employment in and by the Catholic Church is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their behavior must not violate the faith, morals, or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, nor can it embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. It is required that this employee be a Catholic, or if not Catholic, have a working knowledge of the liturgical calendar and rhythm and workflow of the liturgical year. Representative Responsibilities Administrative Support to School Administration Provide up-to-date management of compliance records, including DHS-required background and training for school staff, communicating regarding Catholic Mutual training videos for all parish staff, and VIRTUS compliance, including motor vehicle checks and paperwork for all staff and volunteer drivers. Assist Guides in identifying and scheduling volunteers for enrichment driving and chaperones, as well as on-campus support. Volunteer management for all school needs (i.e. conference meals) Administration of school lunch program to include preparation of lunch menus in conjunction with catering vendors, monthly lunch ordering using Typeform, and accurate billing of families through TADS. Support Kitchen staff with administrative needs. Administration of the school''s TADS enrollment and accounting system, setting up new enrollments, billing accounts, creating invoices as appropriate and supporting Continuous Enrollment. Participate in creating a productive environment, promoting good morale, adequate communication and cooperative teamwork. Attend bi-monthly school staff meetings as scheduled. Assist School Office Manager with event planning and execution for events such as Back to School Night, Thanksgiving Feast. Donuts with Dads, and Memories with Moms, parent education events, Family Fun events and other events as needed. Support enrollment and advancement of the school by giving tours and answering questions. Organize and facilitate Family Fun events. Apply for grants and keep accurate data for grant reporting. Facilitate school''s accreditation process. Other duties as needed to support running the school. Communicate regularly with the Principal and School Office Manager about the happenings in the school office. School office coverage when School Office Manager is not available Meet and greet all visitors Handle routine questions about St. John''s policies and procedures Receive and receipt any checks or cash that come into the office, including money for tuition, lunch charges, donations, and other payments. Manage student needs (i.e. medication distribution, bussing for services, illness and parent contact). Montessori Duties Suport classroom needs as needed on a day-to-day basis. Teach Mathematics to the Adolescent students using the Montessori style of hands-on learning, nd the Montessori algebra/geometry text. Be open to learning and taking professional development on the Montessori Method. Meet regularly with the school Principal about Adolescent mathematics and student progress. Be present where needed, ready to work as needed to meet responsibilities. Includes recognizing when situations require more effort, satisfying responsibilities in a timely manner, providing an example of punctuality and attendance, and generally ensuring all is ready to be taken care of. Organize, prepare, and maintain files and information. Gather information from fax, email, and other sources, ensure all information has been received, follow up as necessary, or organize reports and make them available for convenient reference, maintain for the designated time, discard at designated time. Maintain and improve work knowledge and skills such as understanding requirements and work procedures, purpose of work completed, computer use, and general parish and office management. Meet all communication requirements including interpersonal skills with parish and school employees as well as visitors, guests, school families, and parishioners. Includes keeping superiors and appropriate others informed. Help create a productive environment where there is harmony, good morale, and cooperative teamwork. Monitor self-productivity and take corrective action as appropriate. Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality of all work data. Other Responsibilities: Includes other responsibilities as identified as needed by the employee and approved and/or assigned by the pastor. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent work experience, especially in advanced mathematics. Experience working with confidential data. Adequate training and skills in teaching middle school algebra/geometry. Moderate to advanced computer skills. Ability to pass satisfactorily a criminal background check, complete VIRTUS safe environment training, and sign a Pastoral Code of Conduct. Ability to satisfactorily comply with the requirements of PACE/PRISM program of Catholic Mutual Insurance, including annual in-service training as prescribed by the parish/archdiocese.
