About Blooming Prairie Public Schools The Blooming Prairie High school is composed of grades 7-12 and serves approximately 375 students. In addition, we offer numerous college level classes and many of our students graduate with college credit. We pride ourselves in being a school strong in technology. We have coding classes, STEM education, and Apple TVs. We are also a 1:1 device school, with each student having an I-Pad issued by the district. Outside of the school day, we provide numerous opportunities to be on sports teams and/or participate in music, the arts, robotics, and the trap team. Our staff is highly educated, and they continue to work to meet the needs of all learners. We provide ADSIS and special education programs as well as promote our PBIS, Prairie Pride, program. Our community provides tremendous support to our school system and many local businesses, and our Education Foundation, support our "extra" programs. Students who graduate from Blooming Prairie High School have the necessary skills to be successful in their next phase of life. At BPPS, we provide a well-rounded, quality education for all. Responsibilities: Curating, distributing, and evaluating Communication Arts and Literature curriculum for each grade level to ensure measurable achievement toward content standards as set forth by Minnesota state leading to the credits required for high school graduation. Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter through effective teaching practices, with expectations of high student achievement. Build relationships with students. Build community in the classroom and in the school as a whole. Promote a safe, equitable, productive, respectful learning environment by implementing the Prairie Pride (PBIS) guidelines. Working from the needs and strengths of students, including required accommodations for students with 504s or Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Communicating with students, parents, administrators, colleagues, and support staff regarding student progress or needs. Establishing a safe and productive learning environment, including equitable enforcement of rules and procedures. Working within school community to assist other teachers, administration, and support staff. Focus on improving instructional practice and student learning by participating in professional learning communities, showing professionalism, and growing professionally.
