Start Your Online Application Now Date of Availability: 10/12/2026 Date Closing: 06/19/2026 Description: Junior High Boys'' Basketball Coach Position Summary The Junior High (JH) Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for introducing and developing fundamental basketball skills while fostering a positive and educational athletic experience. This role focuses on building a strong foundation for student-athletes as they transition into the high school basketball program, emphasizing teamwork, effort, and sportsmanship. Responsibilities Plan and conduct practices focused on fundamental skill development and basic team concepts Coach and supervise junior high games and related activities Teach and reinforce proper basketball techniques, rules, and sportsmanship Promote a positive, inclusive, and development-focused team environment Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and coaching staff Support alignment with the high school boys basketball program philosophy Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants Assist with equipment, uniforms, and program organization Encourage academic success and positive behavior in school Adhere to all school, district, and Minnesota State High School League rules and guidelines Qualifications Previous coaching or playing experience preferred Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and teaching techniques Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work effectively with middle school-aged students Must meet all district and MSHSL coaching certification requirements Expectations Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes Emphasize development, effort, and enjoyment of the game Maintain professionalism in all interactions with players, parents, officials, and staff Commit to the full junior high season schedule Questions regarding this position should be directed to: Evan Pederson, Activities Director Crookston High School Phone 218-281-2144 email: evanpederson@isd593.org Application deadline: Friday, June 19, 2026 or until filled.
