POSITION DETAILS Grade: 7 Subject: Science Start Date: 2026-2027 Full Time FTE: 1.0 ROLE OBJECTIVES The 7th Grade Science Teacher will inspire students to explore the natural world, building their understanding of scientific concepts, inquiry, and problem-solving, while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of discovery. KEY DUTIES Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned science lessons that promote inquiry, critical thinking, and real-world application. Facilitate hands-on learning experiences, experiments, and classroom discussions to deepen student understanding of scientific concepts. Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative methods, and provide timely, constructive feedback. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with special needs and varying skill levels. Integrate technology and instructional tools to enhance student engagement and support learning outcomes. Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and collaboration. Establish and reinforce clear expectations for student behavior to ensure a productive learning atmosphere. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and progress in accordance with school policies. Collaborate with colleagues, participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and engage in ongoing professional development. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or school administration. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in regular professional development, the school?s professional learning community and staff meetings to improve instruction. Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with school leadership and other staff members to maximize effective instructional activities and build positive school culture. Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules, deadlines, and all professional responsibilities. Demonstrate the standards for effective practices of teachers Any other assigned duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Educational Qualifications: BA Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of content, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage and inspire students, and proficiency in using educational technology.
