This role focuses on supporting students with Specific Learning Disabilities through evidence-based instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics while ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations. The teacher collaborates with staff, students, and families to promote academic growth, independence, and belonging for all learners and operates within the Minnesota Teacher Code of Ethics. Coordinate and conduct Part B evaluations in accordance with state and federal guidelines. ? Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the student and family and contribute to the development of integrated IEP goals and outcomes. ? Provide research-based specialized instruction as outlined in student IEPs. ? Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs to ensure student progress and compliance. ? Plan and deliver individualized and small group instruction using age-appropriate, evidence-based practices. ? Use a variety of instructional materials and teaching techniques to meet diverse student needs. ? Plan and conduct a system of continuous evaluation of student progress using progress monitoring tools and data-based decision making. ? Collaborate with parents, general education teachers, related service providers, and community agencies to ensure effective provision of services. ? Educate and support parents and caregivers regarding student needs, services, and strategies for support. ? Prepare and maintain accurate documentation including evaluations, observations, and progress reports to meet all compliance requirements. ? Maintain records and reports in alignment with district procedures and state and federal regulations. ? Coordinate provision of services to maximize student learning opportunities. ? Participate in meetings including IEP meetings, conferences, parent meetings, and professional development opportunities. ? Provide training and support to paraprofessionals, related service personnel, and families regarding student needs and programming. ? Supervise and provide direction for classroom paraprofessionals and teaching assistants. ? Collaboratively develop and manage special education service schedules aligned to student IEP requirements. ? Lead and coordinate paraprofessional schedules to ensure effective and compliant service delivery. ? Provide ongoing direction, collaboration, and support to paraprofessionals in implementing student supports and services. ? Maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom and learning environment, including effective behavior management. ? Monitor classroom instruction to ensure student progress and safety. ? Participate physically with students in activities as appropriate to support instruction and engagement. ? Make referrals to other professionals and agencies on behalf of students as appropriate. ? Support successful transitions for students between grade levels and educational settings. ? Collaborate with special education staff to ensure continuity of services and programming. ? Encourage and guide parent involvement in supporting student learning. ? Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to all legal and ethical standards. ? Participate in staff development and continuous professional learning to improve job-related skills. ? All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: ? Bachelor''s degree in Special Education or related field required. ? Current Minnesota teaching license in Special Education in the area of Specific Learning Disabilities or eligibility to obtain Minnesota licensure in SLD. ? Experience teaching in special education settings preferred. ? Demonstrated experience with due process procedures including conducting evaluations, writing IEPs, monitoring progress, and facilitating meetings. ? Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations. ? Experience implementing structured literacy and evidence-based math interventions preferred. ? Experience using progress monitoring tools and data to guide instruction preferred. ? Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills. ? Ability to work effectively within a team-centered environment. ? Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and timelines with attention to detail and compliance. ? Ability to meet district, state, and federal background check requirements. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor''s degree in Special Education or related field required.
