District and Community Overview:
East Grand Forks, MN, is a city with a population of approximately 9,000, located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND, and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district''s K-12 enrollment is approximately 1900 students, as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The district also boasts a thriving Preschool Program and lifelong learning opportunities through Community Education.

Terms:
2026-27 Season
Practice begins August 17, 2026
Compensation will be per the EGFEA Master Work Agreement
Salary Range: $3,063.00 - $3,794.00/year
Reporting Relationship:
The Assistant Boys and Girls Cross Country Coach reports directly to the Activities Director.
Basic Function of the Position:
The Assistant Boys and Girls Cross Country Coach must possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
Job Summary:
East Grand Forks Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Boys and Girls Cross Country Coach to assist the head coach of our high school cross country program. The successful candidate will assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of the cross country program. Responsibilities include helping conduct practices, supervising student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship and academic success, assisting with meet preparation and team communication, and supporting the overall goals and expectations of the athletic program and school district.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of cross country fundamentals, strategies, and training techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and school staff.
- Must meet all MSHSL coaching certification requirements.
- Candidate must be able to successfully complete a background check.
