Two positions are available. Job Summary: Saber Connection is seeking an energetic, well-organized and detail-oriented candidate. The Program Specialist leads the planning, development, coordination and evaluation of the Saber Connection program and Youth Development at assigned buildings. This position is responsible for overseeing staff and programming offered before and after school, on non-school days and during the summer, while ensuring a safe, engaging and high-quality experience for all participants. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create curriculum goals of the program Maintain, strengthen and establish community partnerships to ensure maximum use of community resources Interview, hire and supervise staff at multiple sites Define and evaluate program goals and objectives Support and mentor Site Coordinators and evaluate staff performance Develop staffing patterns year-round (school days, non-school days and summer) Train staff on all aspects of program, including keeping them informed on changing developments, trends and technologies Maintain Department of Children, Youth and Families certification records and requirements Follow district, program and certification policies and procedures Ensure good communication between staff, families and district Coordinate and lead professional development Provide adequate staff, curriculum and equipment to accommodate the inclusion needs of participants Manage site budgets Develop and implement a Youth Development framework to guide staff practices within the program Collaborate with secondary school staff to establish youth service initiatives, manage Youth Development programming and facilitate the creation of a Youth Development Advisory Council Evaluate the effectiveness of current programs and participant satisfaction. Research new opportunities to serve the diverse needs of the community Research grant opportunities, prepare proposals and manage funding Ensure high-quality customer service Collaborate and build positive relationships with schools and district staff Represent Shakopee Public Schools, Community Education and Saber Connection in a positive manner Other duties as assigned Pay & Benefits: Benefits: A competitive benefit package is also available and includes the following- Medical Insurance Dental Insurance HSA&VEBA Flexible Spending & Dependent Care Accidental Injury & Critical Illness Life Insurance Short & Long Term Disability Employee Assistance Program Paid Time Off- 15 sick days, 25 vacation days, & 12 paid holidays PERA Retirement Plan (Public Employees Retirement Association) - 7.5% district contribution 403(B) plan- 2.5% match Salary- $57,672 - $106,000 annually, typical hiring range: $61,000 - $78,000, based on experience and qualifications Qualifications: Three years supervisory experience in the area of Community Education, School Age Care or similar programs. Experience in building relationships and conflict resolution. Good understanding of child development (preschool-grade 8). Experience working in a Community Education or similar program at both the building- and district-level is preferred. Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive demeanor. Bachelor''s Degree required.
