DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM In-Person Program (PreK?8) JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE The In-Person Principal serves as the principal administrator for Crosslake Community School?s PreK?8 In-Person Program, leading educational excellence for students through hands-on, interactive learning experiences. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the in-person school: instructional leadership, supervision and evaluation of teaching and support staff, student support and discipline, school climate, family and community engagement, campus safety, and operational management of the building. The In-Person Principal collaborates closely with the Superintendent and the Online Principal to ensure cohesive district-wide implementation of the mission while developing distinctive in-person learning opportunities that emphasize environmental education and community connections. STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT & EXPERIENCE IMPACT This position supports our strategic directions and contributes to creating positive daily experiences by: For Students: Creating hands-on, interactive learning experiences including outdoor education that connect students with their environment and community Supporting students to feel appreciated, understood, cared for, and included through personalized attention and inclusive classroom practices For Staff & Community: Fostering a collaborative, supportive work environment through team building and unified campus culture Ensuring effective communication with families and community members through a welcoming campus environment and active engagement ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Instructional Leadership and Program Vision Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for the PreK?8 In-Person Program aligned with district mission and the Strategic Roadmap Create program-specific goals for academic achievement, hands-on learning, and campus community building Lead curriculum development and implementation ensuring Minnesota standards compliance and environmental education integration Visit classrooms and observe instruction on a consistent, predictable basis; provide instructional feedback that is specific and tied to observable practice Monitor in-person student achievement and engagement data; use data to guide program decisions and implement improvement strategies Ensure oversight of and follow-through on School initiatives (HRS, Catalyst, MnMTSS, Read Act, and similar) Collaborate with the Superintendent on district-wide strategic initiatives and resource allocation Staff Supervision, Development & Fair Treatment Supervise and evaluate in-person teaching and support staff, ensuring consistent support across PreK?8 Hold 1:1 meetings with direct reports on a consistent, predictable schedule Set clear performance expectations with direct reports and provide feedback that is specific and actionable Complete staff evaluations on time and in accordance with the district evaluation process, using documented evidence Apply expectations and standards consistently across staff regardless of personal relationship Treat staff members the same after they raise a concern, ask a hard question, or disagree with a decision Distribute opportunities ? Education and Licensing

  • Master’s degree required

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Employment Agreement: 12-month position, year-round (240 days)

Schedule: 8 hours per day with flexibility for campus programming and family engagement needs

Position Type: On-site at the Crosslake campus with occasional travel for professional development

Technology Requirements: Must maintain an updated Google Calendar and coordinate with district technology platforms

Meeting Requirements: Must attend weekly 1:1s with the Superintendent, weekly 1:1s with the Online Principal, District Cabinet meetings, and collaboration sessions with district-level staff

Delegation Structure: Must establish clear campus delegation protocols during absences

Salary Range: $84,640 - $105,800 annually, depending on qualifications and experience
