Glenville-Emmons Public Schools Position Opening: Band/Choir Director (Grades 5-12) 2026-2027 School Year Glenville-Emmons Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Band/Choir Director to lead and grow our music program for students in grades 5-12 for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about music education, values student growth, and is committed to building a positive and engaging learning environment. Position Responsibilities: Teach band and choir classes for students in grades 5-12. Develop and implement engaging music curriculum aligned with Minnesota state standards. Direct instrumental and vocal ensembles for concerts, contests, and school/community performances. Foster student musicianship, creativity, teamwork, and confidence. Organize and supervise performances, rehearsals, and related events. Maintain music equipment, instruments, uniforms, and music library. Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members. Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and school activities. Encourage recruitment and retention of students in the music program. Qualifications: Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Instrumental and/or Vocal Music. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students and families. Knowledge of instrumental and vocal pedagogy across middle and high school grade levels. Previous directing and teaching experience preferred but not required. Desired Characteristics: Positive, energetic, and student-centered approach. Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Ability to inspire students of varying ability levels. Willingness to be an active part of the school and community.
