Glenville-Emmons Public Schools Position Opening: Elementary Music Teacher / METSS Instructor (PreK-6) 2026-2027 School Year Glenville-Emmons Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered educator to serve as an Elementary Music Teacher / METSS Instructor for students in PreK through 6th grade for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will provide foundational music instruction while also leading our METSS program (Music, Exploration, Theatre, Social/Study Skills) to support creativity, student engagement, and whole-child development. Position Responsibilities: Teach general music classes for students in PreK through 6th grade. Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Minnesota state standards in music education. Lead METSS classes incorporating music, hands-on exploration, theatre activities, and social/study skill development. Foster creativity, collaboration, confidence, and positive student relationships. Prepare students for school performances, programs, and special events. Integrate movement, singing, instruments, and age-appropriate music experiences. Support students in developing organization, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support student success. Maintain classroom materials, instruments, and learning spaces. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff. Qualifications: Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Music Education or appropriate elementary/music licensure required. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students and families. Knowledge of child development and effective instructional strategies for elementary learners. Desired Characteristics: Positive, energetic, and creative teaching style. Passion for elementary education and student growth. Flexible and collaborative team member.
