Campbell-Tintah Public School is seeking a Part-time School Counselor to provide support in academics and social-emotional well-being. Job Title: School Counselor (.5 FTE) Reports To: Principal Position Summary: The School Counselor supports the academic, social-emotional, and career development of students through a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with district goals and student needs. This position provides individual and small group counseling, collaborates with staff and families, and assists in creating a safe, supportive, and student-centered learning environment. The School Counselor also serves as the District Assessment Coordinator, overseeing state and district assessment administration processes and ensuring testing compliance. Primary Responsibilities: Provide individual and small group counseling services to support students? academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and career development needs Deliver proactive classroom guidance lessons and interventions aligned with school counseling standards and student wellness goals Support students in developing self-awareness, self-management, interpersonal, and decision-making skills Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community agencies to support student success and well-being Participate in problem-solving teams, MTSS processes, student support meetings, and crisis response efforts Assist in identifying and supporting students experiencing academic, attendance, behavioral, social-emotional, or mental health concerns Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with district procedures and state/federal requirements Support career and postsecondary readiness planning, including graduation planning and student goal setting as appropriate to grade level Provide consultation and resources to staff and families regarding student supports and interventions Respond appropriately to crisis situations and student safety concerns in collaboration with administration and support staff Serve as the District Assessment Coordinator, including coordinating state and district assessments, maintaining testing security and compliance, training staff on testing procedures, organizing testing schedules, and managing assessment materials and reporting processes Coordinate with district and building staff to ensure accurate student assessment participation and accommodations Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school improvement initiatives Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Valid Minnesota School Counselor license required or ability to obtain licensure prior to employment Master?s degree in school counseling or related field preferred Knowledge of comprehensive school counseling programs, MTSS frameworks, student support systems, and assessment administration procedures Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and data management skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in working with students, families, and staff Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting preferred Working Conditions: School setting working directly with students, families, and staff Position scheduled at .5 FTE with workdays and hours determined by district needs May require flexibility to respond to student and school needs, including crisis situations, testing windows, and meetings Compensation: Salary and benefits based on district guidelines and negotiated agreements proportional to .5 FTE assignment
