Assignment: Certified Essential Functions Develops and delivers engaging classroom and shop instruction in woodworking, construction techniques, tool usage, equipment operation, and workplace safety. Provides instruction aligned with district curriculum standards while preparing students for technical careers, apprenticeships, certifications, and post-secondary opportunities. Teaches proper use of hand tools, power tools, woodworking machinery, safety procedures, and industry-relevant practices. Plans and implements hands-on woodworking projects, demonstrations, and technical learning activities. Evaluates and assesses student progress through practical application, assignments, tests, and project completion. Maintains a safe, organized, and structured shop/classroom environment, including equipment maintenance and safety compliance. Adapts instruction to meet diverse student learning needs and skill levels. Promotes career readiness, craftsmanship, problem-solving, teamwork, leadership, and technical competency. Collaborates with staff, administration, parents, and community or industry partners to support student success. Participates in curriculum development, professional development, school meetings, and student support planning. Supervises students during classroom, shop, and school-related activities while maintaining behavioral expectations. Provides leadership and guidance to classroom support staff when applicable. Supervision of Other Employees While this position does not entail direct supervision of other employees, it does provide indirect supervision for paraprofessionals in the classroom. Physical Requirements Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects in the performance of the job.
