Start Your Online Application Now (26-27) Head Baseball Coach - St. James Public Schools - ISD#840 St. James Public Schools Stipend: $4,356 Season: Spring Purpose To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical conditioning necessary to achieve individual and team success in baseball. To promote responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, self-discipline, character development, and academic success through participation in baseball. Summary The Head Baseball Coach oversees all aspects of the high school baseball program, including player development, practice planning, competition preparation, and program organization. The coach fosters a positive and inclusive team culture while ensuring compliance with all school, conference, and MSHSL policies. The Head Baseball Coach serves as a positive representative of St. James Public Schools and reports directly to the High School Activities Director. Essential Responsibilities Develop and oversee all aspects of the baseball program. Plan and conduct structured, purposeful practices and competitions. Teach baseball fundamentals, game strategy, conditioning, and sportsmanship. Promote skill development, teamwork, leadership, and character growth. Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture. Maintain discipline in a firm, fair, and supportive manner. Supervise and effectively utilize assistant coaches. Ensure compliance with MSHSL, conference, and district policies and procedures. Coordinate and support feeder and youth baseball programs aligned with district activities. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, staff, and administration. Establish and communicate a clear program philosophy and expectations. Support academic achievement and student eligibility expectations. Manage equipment, uniforms, field needs, and program resources. Adhere to district budget procedures and inventory processes. Collaborate with the Activities Director regarding scheduling, staffing, transportation, and program needs. Evaluate assistant coaches. Keep stakeholders informed regarding schedules, expectations, and updates. Attend required meetings, trainings, and athletic department events. Provide regular updates to the Activities Director regarding program status. Coordinate and lead post-season recognition activities and events.
