Physical Education Specialist (Preschool - Grade 8) Oak Hill Montessori Community School is seeking a Physical Education Teacher who possesses the skills and experience to teach in a Montessori setting and the abilities necessary to implement our school?s Mission. We serve children 16 months through 8th grade with our lower school being tuition based, and upper school being tuition-free. General Summary of Position This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position, with typical on-site hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, M-F, throughout the 10 month school year. The Physical Education Teacher?s responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Deliver engaging K-8 physical education lessons on motor skills, fitness, individual/team sports, and health Monitor student progress, evaluate physical attributes, and provide feedback on fitness goals. Create a safe, inclusive environment (including adaptive strategies for diverse needs) and manage classroom behavior. Maintain, inventory, and set up PE equipment and, often, indoor/outdoor facilities. Work with staff and parents to support student growth, and often participate in school-wide duties. Create opportunities for students to experience a variety of sports and activities in PE Help teach students about healthy choices and lifestyles Collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students Supervising practical PE lessons, including both indoor and outdoor classes Required Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in Physical Education or a related field. Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Physical Education (often covering K-12 or specifically K-8). Previous experience teaching PE, particularly at the elementary or middle school level. Desired Qualifications: Complete a state-approved teacher preparation program Master''s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field Salary & Benefits: Commensurate with experience and qualifications. Consideration for an increase in minimum salary may be given for those with extensive Montessori lead teacher experience.
