Big Lake Schools is hiring a Fitness Center Assistant within our Community Education department. If you want an active job, like keeping spaces looking sharp, and want plenty of time left over for your summer activities or pairing well with a camp or second job schedule, this is the role for you. --- Schedule and Pay: Wage: $14.36 per hour Hours: 9 hours per week Flexibility: Hours are very flexible and spread out over 3 days per week, allowing you to design a schedule that works for you. Duration: June 1 - August 30 --- What You Will Do: Under the general direction of the Director of Community Education and Communication Services, you will be responsible for simple maintenance and care for the fitness center space and reporting damage. Your day-to-day tasks will include: Performing general cleaning functions. Vacuuming and sweeping the fitness center floors. Cleaning and sanitizing the workout equipment. Dusting furniture, cleaning windows, and cleaning mirrors. Communicating with the custodial staff when cleaning materials are needed, bathrooms need attention, or maintenance is needed. Performing other duties of a comparable level or type as assigned. --- Who We Are Looking For: This is an excellent entry-level opportunity. Here is what you need to succeed: Team Players: You work well with others and feel comfortable giving instructions when needed. Safety Minded: You have a basic knowledge of fundamental fitness equipment and safety procedures in the space. Reliable: Regular attendance is required to keep our fitness center running smoothly. Physical Capabilities: This is an active job. Positions in this class typically involve seeing, standing, talking, hearing, feeling, and walking, as well as a considerable amount of kneeling, crouching, stooping, and reaching. The role features heavy physical requirements, characterized by exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. --- Questions?
