Reports to: Superintendent Description: Mahtomedi Public Schools is currently seeking a Director of Teaching & Learning to effectively lead and develop the District''s educational programs and support systems, oversee staff development initiatives that promote positive leadership and work closely with district wide leadership to achieve strategic objectives to ensure an equitable learning environment for all students and staff. This position supports the Superintendent in administration of all School Board approved policies and works collaboratively to support the mission and vision of the School District. Duties and Responsibilities: Collaboratively leads district administrators, teachers and support staff to establish and maintain a student-centered learning environment that promotes intellectual growth, rigorous content acquisition and learner agency. Collaboratively leads district administrators, teachers and support staff to promote and support high student engagement in instruction. Collaboratively leads the district to implement systems for on-going and embedded professional learning that supports teacher growth and development. Leads the district process for regularly reviewing and aligning curriculum using content standards, emerging research and relevant data. Oversees selection, administration and use of district and state assessments. Works with the principals to organize and provide professional development that supports the district strategic plan; Develops and manages a district-wide budget for the Teaching and Learning Department. Develops and implements budgets that ensure district''s compliance with state and federal guidelines for the following program areas: Advanced Placement, ADSIS, Achievement and Integration, American Indian Education, English Learner, Gifted and Talented Services Provides supervision and direction to district Teaching and Learning staff. Creates reports, presentations and documentation required for compliance with both federal and state laws and the Mahtomedi School Board Supports the Superintendent in communicating the goals and resources needed in the district budget to implement and sustain an innovative instructional program district-wide Supports other goals, tasks, and initiatives in line with the position as dictated by district needs and Superintendent direction Qualifications: 3+ years successful experience as an educational leader in a school environment as a principal or district level administrator role; Masters Degree in educational leadership or related field, K-12 Principal licensure and 7+ years successful teaching experience required; High level knowledge of curriculum standards and management of E-12 school operations; Knowledge of organizational change and ability to lead through change process Knowledge of federal and state laws, state mandates, regulations and procedure Benefits: Mahtomedi Public Schools offers a comprehensive benefits program designed to support our employees.
