Start Your Online Application Now Date of Availability: 08/31/2026 Date Closing: Open until filled Position: General Education Paraprofessional Location: Blue Heron Elementary Start Date: August 31, 2026 Hours: 6.5 hours/day - 8:55 am to 3:55 pm General Education Paraprofessionals work closely with certified teachers within regular classrooms to support student learning, safety, and engagement. This position focuses entirely on assisting the general student population and maintaining a positive, orderly school environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, follows directions well, and communicates effectively. Responsibilities MAY include, but are not limited to: Reinforce daily lessons under the guidance of the classroom teacher. Work with individual students or lead small breakout groups to clarify tasks, guide practice, and keep students focused. Actively supervise students during non-academic times. Enforce safety rules on the playground, monitor behavior in the cafeteria, and assist students to ensure an orderly, safe, and positive environment. Monitor school corridors during morning arrival, afternoon dismissal, and class transitions. Ensure students move safely between areas and maintain appropriate behavior in the hallways. Help the lead teacher prepare learning materials, set up activities, organize supplies, and address minor student distractions to keep the classroom running smoothly. Participating in required professional development, training, and meetings. Other duties as assigned. All Centennial paraprofessionals may be assigned to other positions as determined by the district. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required. Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
