About Nasha Shkola Charter School: Nasha Shkola Charter School is a small K–8 public charter school located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Our mission is to provide a strong academic foundation while fostering multilingualism, multicultural understanding, and appreciation of Russian language and Slavic heritage. More than 90% of our students are multilingual learners. Nasha Shkola is not a language immersion school. Core academic instruction is delivered in English using evidence-based curricula aligned with Minnesota standards. Students also receive daily instruction in Russian language and culture as part of our unique heritage-focused educational program.
Responsibilities
- Teach Physical Education to students in grades preK–8 in accordance with Minnesota Academic Standards.
- Plan and implement engaging lessons that promote physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Organize and supervise physical activities, games, and fitness assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student participation and progress.
- Participate in school events, professional development, and school improvement initiatives.
Position Structure
This position may be offered as either a 0.5 FTE or 1.0 FTE assignment. The 0.5 FTE position consists of Physical Education instruction. Candidates interested in a full-time (1.0 FTE) position may be assigned additional duties as an Academic Support Teacher, providing small-group instruction, intervention support, supervision, and other student support services based on the candidate''s qualifications and school needs.
Qualifications
- Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain a Minnesota teaching license in Physical Education.
- Commitment to promoting physical fitness, healthy habits, and positive character development.
- Experience working with multilingual learners is preferred but not required.
- Experience coaching youth sports or leading extracurricular activities is desirable but not required.
