Purpose The Activities, Transportation, and Grounds Coordinator provides leadership, coordination, and direct support for the District''s student activities program, transportation services, and grounds operations. The Coordinator works collaboratively with students, staff, families, and community partners to ensure safe, efficient, and student-centered programs and services that support the District''s mission and goals. Essential Functions Activities Coordination Coordinate the District''s extracurricular and co-curricular programs. Represent the District at MSHSL meetings and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Coordinate activity schedules, facility usage, officials, transportation, and event logistics to ensure successful student and community events. Support coaches, advisors, students, and families in the implementation of activities programs. Promote student participation and engagement in extracurricular opportunities. Assist with activity budgets, equipment needs, and the hiring, support, and supervision of coaches and advisors. Navigate and mediate complex situations involving student activity participation while maintaining positive relationships and supporting district policies and procedures. Transportation Coordination Coordinate student transportation services, including bus routes, field trips, and activity transportation. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety requirements. Work collaboratively with families and staff to address transportation concerns. Coordinate driver assignments, substitute coverage, and transportation communications. Drive regular routes, activity trips, and emergency transportation assignments as needed. Conduct routine safety inspections and basic maintenance on district buses and vans, and coordinate repairs and service as needed. Assist with vehicle maintenance planning, transportation budgets, and the hiring, support, and supervision of transportation staff. Grounds Coordination Coordinate and assist with the maintenance and care of district grounds, athletic fields, and outdoor facilities. Coordinate and assist with seasonal ground operations, including mowing, snow removal, landscaping, athletic field preparation, and related tasks. Coordinate contracted grounds services and equipment maintenance. Work collaboratively with grounds personnel to ensure district grounds are safe, functional, and prepared for school and community events. Assist with grounds budgets, equipment needs, and the hiring, support, and supervision of grounds personnel. General Responsibilities Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community members. Attend meetings, trainings, and events as assigned. Support district safety initiatives and emergency response procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Qualifications Required Associate degree or equivalent combination of education or experience. Valid Minnesota driver''s license. Ability to obtain and maintain required Minnesota school bus driving qualifications, including a Class B Commercial Driver''s License with appropriate endorsements. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Ability to respond to and resolve concerns from parents, students, coaches, and community members in a timely, professional, and solution-focused manner. Preferred Experience in education, student activities, transportation, operations, grounds management, or a related field. Bachelor''s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Recreation Management, Operations Management, or a related field. Experience coordinating activities, transportation, facilities, operations, or grounds programs. Experience supervising staff and managing schedules. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of student activities, transportation operations, and grounds management practices. Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills. Working Conditions Work is performed in office, school, transportation, and outdoor environments. The position requires travel between district facilities, attendance at activities and events outside normal business hours, and work in varying weather conditions. The position may require operating district vehicles, buses, grounds equipment, and related machinery as needed.
