We are seeking a dedicated, collaborative Special Education Teacher to champion the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students, helping them build the essential independence and transition skills they need for a bright future. Job Summary: Work collaboratively with special services team members to support the academic, character, social and emotional growth of learners. Collaborate with IEP team members to design, coordinate, and deliver a rigorous and appropriate education for students with disabilities. Participate in regular PLC meetings as an active and engaged professional. Conduct and maintain due process paperwork according to District, State, and Federal guidelines. Communicate frequently with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators through all available means of technology. Establish and maintain high standards for the educational experience of students. Qualifications: Current Minnesota Teaching License required - MN Special Education License required. High level of Special Education due process expertise required. Experiene with with instructing students in Secondary Transition areas (employment, post-secondary and independent living skills) Demonstrate ability to facilitate meaningful discourse in IEP meetings. Experience working directly with students in classroom/resource room setting preferred. Effective classroom management skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience in collaboration and problem-solving. Experience with curriculum, assessment, and accommodation design. Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents. Ability to use technology as an instructional tool. Workbased Learning License preferred. Bargaining Group and Level: Orono Education Association/Teachers COMPENSATION BA Step 1 ($49,266) to EdS Step 20 ($105,958) INSURANCE Single Health: 100% Covered by District Employee + 1 Health: 75% Covered by District Family Health: 65% Covered by District Dental: 100% Coverage by District Life Insurance: $50,000 Covered by District LTD insurance: 100% Covered by District Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) OTHER BENEFITS TSA match after meeting conditions.
