Prince of Peace Lutheran School Position Description Job Title: Extended Care Coordinator Reports To: Principal Hours: 7:00am-9:00am and 2:00pm-5:30pm School Year (flexibility here, roughly 25-27 hours a week) 7:00am-5:30pm Summer Care (30-40 hours a week, depending on staffing) Salary: $15/hourly - $20/hourly (Based on experience) Benefits: MN Safe and Sick Leave MN Paid Leave Retirement: Percentage of salary paid by employer Disability and Survivor Plan: Paid by employer based on earnings ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of positive student development: *Promote, stimulate, and encourage participation. *Provide guidance and role modeling to students and staff. *Maintain a safe, positive atmosphere for all students. *Exhibits a warm, concerned attitude toward students that uses a positive approach in dealing with individuals and as well as groups. Effectively plan and carry out weekly lesson plans. Be aware of safety procedures for fire, tornado, lock down, etc. Responsible for the care and maintenance of program equipment, supplies and facility including daily clean up and proper use. Plan and prepare nutritious snacks for students. Maintain accurate records and data entry of attendance for monthly billing. Prepare and maintain enrollment paperwork. Be aware of snack and supply inventory. Place orders as necessary. Implement Summer Care Program. Responsible for managing medical/behavior issues of students. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES Ability to relate well with children. Ability to be flexible, adaptable and mobile when supervising groups of children. Is aware of Prince of Peace/Extended Care policies and will abide by them. Ability to plan and implement quality program for students. Effectively communicate with parents, staff, and students. Maintain and organized and safe environment for staff and students. CPR and first aid certified. EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE Education High school diploma; some post-secondary education or equivalent experience Must be 18 years of age.
