Salary Range: $46,008-$85,735 Benefits: The district contributes toward premiums for health, dental and life insurance coverage. Eligible employees may access a Health Savings Account (HSA). Annual personal, sick and ESST time is available. Additional leave options include bereavement, jury duty, military service, and unpaid childcare leave. East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 9,000 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district''s K-12 enrollment is approximately 1950 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Position Summary: The 9-12 English Instructor is responsible for providing engaging, standards-based instruction in English language arts, fostering students'' reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills while creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Essential Duties: Essential duties include planning and delivering engaging English language arts instruction; developing students'' reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills; assessing student learning; maintaining a positive classroom environment; collaborating with colleagues; communicating with students and families; and supporting the academic and personal growth of all students. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver standards-aligned English language arts instruction for grades 9-12. Teach literature, writing, grammar, research, communication, and critical thinking skills. Develop and implement engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners. Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support growth. Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment. Use instructional strategies and technology to enhance student learning. Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student success. Participate in professional development, curriculum development, and school activities. Maintain accurate records and comply with district policies and state standards. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Required: Valid Minnesota teaching license in English Language Arts (Grades 5-12) or appropriate licensure as required by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) or ability to obtain. Bachelor''s degree in English, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution. Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of English language arts content, curriculum, and instructional practices. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to develop engaging lessons that support diverse student learning needs. Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and the school community.
