This position serves students in grades 9?12 by providing specialized instruction, supporting students in inclusive classroom settings, and collaborating with general education teachers to ensure students receive meaningful learning experiences that help them reach their individual goals. The successful candidate will work with students in small group settings, provide co-teaching support within general education classrooms, and develop engaging lessons and learning experiences that meet the diverse academic, social, and behavioral needs of students. This individual will foster positive relationships with students while maintaining high expectations and creating an inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported. This position includes ongoing support and mentoring through our Special Education Cooperative, making it an excellent opportunity for educators who are eager to learn, grow professionally, and make a positive impact on students'' lives. Essential Responsibilities Provide special education instruction to students in grades 9?12. Deliver instruction in small group and co-teaching settings. Plan and develop engaging lessons that address a variety of student learning needs and abilities. Implement students'' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with fidelity. Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation. Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student success. Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of learners. Create a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence. Build meaningful relationships with students while maintaining consistent expectations. Participate in staff meetings, professional collaboration, and other school activities as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to state and federal special education requirements. Qualifications Valid Minnesota teaching license or eligibility to obtain appropriate licensure preferred. Special Education licensure preferred; candidates eligible for appropriate substitute teaching credentials or graduating in December are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of best practices in special education instruction is preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Commitment to meeting the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students. Willingness to learn and grow with the support of experienced special education professionals.
