Part-time/Casual Hours Hours of Work: ? After School (September - May) Monday - Friday, 2:30PM - 5:30PM; summer employment potential ? 6 - 15 hours per week, flexible schedule ? Hours may be limited by inclement weather and school closures. Job Description: This position assists in the planning, development, and coordination of Bronco Kids Care, ISD 361?s school-age care program serving children K-5th grade. Program Assistant will help supervise and engage with all school-age children, occasionally plan and implement daily activities, and other duties as assigned by Child Care Coordinator and Child Care Program Lead. Key Responsibilities: ? Works with children grades K-5. Assists with program duties including indoor and outdoor activities, supervising children, and providing a safe environment. ? Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate education, recreational, and enrichment activities. ? Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children. ? Interact with children and help foster positive relationships. ? Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios at all times. ? Set up, organize, clean, and maintain classrooms, activity spaces, and playgrounds. ? Participate in staff meetings and required training. ? Operate technology and program software as needed. ? Perform light cleaning duties including: sanitizing toys, cleaning tables, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. ? Follow all district policies and Community Education procedures, including reporting safety concerns, maintenance needs, and mandated reporting. ? Perform other duties as assigned by the Child Care Program Lead and Child Care Coordinator. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: ? Knowledge of child development, including developmentally appropriate practices for school age children. ? Effective verbal and written communication skills. ? Ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment for all children and families. ? Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance. ? Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 40 pounds, and actively participating in indoor and outdoor activities in varying weather conditions. Qualifications: ? Required: ? High School Diploma or Equivalent ? First Aid and CPR (offered by district upon hire) ? Must successfully complete a background check ? Preferred: ? Coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Recreation, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field. ? Job Description:
