Position Title: Cook Manager Elementary School
Job Summary: This position is responsible for participating, overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the building''s nutritional service operations including delivery of nutritious and appealing meals to customers; preparing, cooking and serving customers; and maintaining a clean and welcoming work environment. This position is also responsible for ordering supplies, maintaining food safety standards, serving customers, assisting with breakfast meal service, and supporting building nutritional services staff in accordance with USDA Breakfast and lunch programs regulations.

Schedule: 7.75 hours/day M-F School year, onsite work and wages per nutritional services master agreement
Salary Range: Step 1 at $24.72/hr to Step 5 at $27.61/hr, placement will vary depending on education and experience. View salary grid on the respective bargaining unit listed above, accessible via our Master Agreements page
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Level 3 certification is preferred (must be obtained within 1 year of appointment)
- Valid Serv Safe or Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager (must be obtained within 1 year of appointment)
- Three years of previous quantity food service experience, preferably in a school or healthcare setting
- Two years of previous supervisory or managerial experience preferably in a school or healthcare setting
- Knowledgeable in utilizing computer software programs including Microsoft, Google, student information software, vendor ordering systems, and nutritional software
- Skills
- Follows food safety and sanitation protocols, including proper storage, cooling, cleaning, sanitizing, and temperature monitoring
- Maintains accuracy and attention to detail
- Organizes tasks and manages time effectively
- Handles all confidential data with integrity
- Applies analytical thinking to solve problems
- Works independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Communicates effectively and builds interpersonal rapport
