Start Your Online Application Now Date of Availability: 08/10/2026 Date Closing: Open Until Filled Job Summary: Full-time (1.0 FTE) School Social Worker for Grades K-5 Responsible for the following tasks: Liaison with students, parents, school staff, and community agencies Analyzes and interprets information for recommendations regarding needs and services Participation in Child Study Teams Collaboration with classroom teachers identifying special needs services for youth Provide social work services to students and parents Participation as a resource person for in-service training and planning Participates in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process as required Makes referral to public or private agencies with appropriate follow-up Provide therapeutic and rehabilitative mental health services in conjunction with students with IEPs Complete mental health assessments for special education students Under supervision of mental health professional for purposes of third-party billing Qualifications: Must hold appropriate Minnesota teaching license as a Licensed School Social Worker (licensed by the Board of Social Work and the Minnesota Board of Teaching) Previous experience preferred Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills Candidates preferred to have one of the following: Bachelor''s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college/university and completed 2000 hours of supervised clinical experience delivering clinical services to treat mental illness or children with emotional disturbances Enrolled in a Social Work Master''s program from an accredited college/university Have a MSW from an accredited college/university Rate of Pay: Based on candidate''s experience and education per the ALEA Master Agreement Benefits offered for this position are as listed Health and Dental Insurance Life Insurance Long Term Disability Teacher Retirement Association (TRA) pension 403(B) Matching Annuity Plan Disability (Sick) Leave/ESST Leave PTO Albert Lea Area Schools'' mission is to ensure individual growth that leads to engaged citizens and life-long learners.
