Cathedral Elementary School | Crookston, Minnesota Part-Time | Up to 9 Hours per Week Position Overview Cathedral Elementary School is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and dependable Art Teacher to provide art instruction to students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade . The Art Teacher will create engaging, age-appropriate art experiences that encourage students to explore creativity, develop artistic skills, and express themselves through a variety of mediums and techniques. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with elementary-aged students and will help foster an appreciation for art within our school community. This position is up to 9 hours per week and offers flexibility in scheduling. Depending on the candidate''s availability and preferences, art classes may be scheduled across two part-days per week or on one school day with slightly longer class periods . The specific day(s) and schedule will be determined collaboratively by the principal and selected candidate. Responsibilities Provide engaging, age-appropriate art instruction for students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Develop and implement art lessons that introduce students to a variety of: Artistic techniques and mediums Elements and principles of art Artists, artistic styles, and cultural influences Opportunities for creative expression Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment. Adapt lessons and activities to meet the developmental needs and abilities of students. Prepare art materials and maintain an organized and safe art classroom/workspace. Monitor and maintain art supplies and communicate supply needs to the principal. Display and celebrate student artwork throughout the school and community. Plan and coordinate two student art shows each school year , one in the winter and one in the spring. Work collaboratively with school staff to support school events, activities, and the mission of Cathedral School. Incorporate, when appropriate, the school''s Catholic identity and mission of faith, family, and knowledge into the art program. Depending on the candidate''s schedule and availability, additional school duties may be assigned by the principal. Qualifications A degree or formal training in Art Education, Fine Arts, Studio Art, or a related field is preferred. A teaching license is not required for this position. Candidates without an art education degree should have relevant experience in art, teaching, working with children, or a related field . Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred. Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills. Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Creativity, flexibility, dependability, and enthusiasm for working with children. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administration, and families. Candidates should support and respect the mission and values of Cathedral Elementary School. Schedule Up to 9 hours per week Schedule is flexible based on the candidate''s availability.
