Vermilion Country School is hiring a full-time Mental Health Practitioner at our Mt Iron Campus. We are also hiring for a full-time Mental Health Practioner at our Tower Campus. This position joins a three-person team at each campus of mental health practitioners working together to provide mental health response, proactive skills training and psychoeducation for students and families, and direct clinical service delivery. VCS is building this team as part of an innovative, school-embedded mental health program integrated into our project-based, advisory-centered educational model.
Position Summary
The Mental Health Practitioner will provide direct clinical mental health services to students, deliver proactive skills training and psychoeducation to students and families, and collaborate with advisory staff to reinforce healthy coping strategies school-wide. This is a full-time position based at the Mt Iron Campus.
Compensation Structure
This is a salaried position. In addition to salary, which compensates for planning and school-based skills instruction, the clinician also works with local partners to provide billable clinical services, and is separately compensated for clinical hours delivered. Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group mental health/clinical services to students
- Deliver proactive skills training and psychoeducation to students and families
- Collaborate with teachers and advisors to embed coping and emotion-regulation strategies into daily school routines
- Support crisis response and safety planning as needed
- Coordinate with families, outside providers, and community partners on student mental health needs
- Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation in compliance with state and federal requirements
Qualifications
- LGSW, LICSW, LPCC, or other clinical licensure qualifying the candidate to provide mental health services in Minnesota
- Experience working with adolescents strongly preferred
- Experience in a school-based or educational setting preferred
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
