Licensed School Counselor -- Grades 7?12 Position Type: Full-Time School Level: Grades 7?12 Reports To: Building Principal / Director of Student Services Location: Crosby-Ironton School District Salary Range: $48,760 - $92,905 Position Summary Crosby-Ironton School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Licensed School Counselor to provide comprehensive counseling and support services to students in grades 7?12. The counselor will work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community partners to support students'' academic achievement, social-emotional development, college and career readiness, and overall well-being. The successful candidate will build positive relationships with students and families, advocate for student needs, provide individual and group counseling, and help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment. Essential Responsibilities Provide individual and small-group counseling to students addressing academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and personal concerns. Develop supportive relationships with students and serve as an accessible and trusted resource. Assist students with academic planning, course selection, graduation requirements, and educational goals. Support students in developing college, career, and post-secondary plans. Provide information and guidance regarding college admissions, financial aid, scholarships, career opportunities, and workforce pathways. Monitor student academic progress and collaborate with staff to identify and support students who may be at risk of falling behind. Assist with student transitions between grade levels, schools, and post-secondary opportunities. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support personnel to develop appropriate interventions and student support plans. Respond appropriately to student mental health, safety, and crisis concerns and make referrals to appropriate school or community resources when necessary. Participate in multidisciplinary teams, student assistance teams, and other school-based support meetings. Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with school policies and applicable laws. Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, staff, and community agencies. Maintain professional knowledge of current counseling practices, educational requirements, graduation pathways, and post-secondary opportunities. Organize & facilitate school-wide assessments such as MCA?s, FastBridge and ACT?s. Perform other duties as assigned by the administration. Qualifications Required: Master''s degree in School Counseling, Counseling, or a related field. Valid state licensure/certification as a school counselor, or eligibility for appropriate school counseling licensure. Experience working with adolescents in an educational or counseling setting. Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment. Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative school team. Preferred: Experience counseling students across both middle and high school settings. Knowledge of college and career readiness programming. Experience with academic advising, post-secondary planning, and graduation requirements. Training or experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, or social-emotional learning. Familiarity with Infinite Campus student information system and SchooLinks.
