The Chef will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing, and student-friendly meals while adhering to the food safety and sanitation rules and laws. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and serve healthy, high-quality meals for K?12 students. Plan and prepare daily menus in accordance with nutrition requirements. Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and cafeteria environment. Monitor food inventory, ordering, storage, and portion control. Work collaboratively with cafeteria and school staff. Provide a welcoming and positive cafeteria experience for students. Follow USDA School Nutrition Program guidelines and applicable Minnesota requirements. Manage kitchen equipment and report maintenance or supply needs. Supervise cafeteria staff. Qualifications: Previous professional cooking or food-service experience preferred. School cafeteria or institutional food-service experience preferred. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work effectively with students and school staff. Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced school environment. Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification.
