Position Overview The Fall Strength and Conditioning Coach provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to student-athletes utilizing the Weight Room and Fitness Room facilities. Reporting directly to the Activities Director, this position collaborates closely with assistant coaches to define program goals and ensure alignment with district athletic standards. The coach is directly responsible for maintaining the health, safety, and overall welfare of all participating student-athletes within St. Francis Area Schools.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Preferred: Prior high school coaching experience; Minnesota coaching certification or completion of the MSHSL / National Federation Interscholastic Coaches Education Program; extensive knowledge of strength and conditioning principles.
- Character Leadership: Proven ability to teach, model, and reinforce responsible behavior and strong character traits.
- Engagement: Highly positive, energetic, and dedicated to athlete development; views success through the growth and achievement of individual student goals.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to partner effectively with parents, staff, district colleagues, and community members.
Major Responsibilities
- Program Management & Instruction: Coordinate, organize, and execute training, instruction, and conditioning programs designed to enhance athlete performance from September 1 through November 30.
- Athlete Safety & Welfare: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of team members during all sessions, including maintaining proper oversight of locker room and training facilities.
- Compliance & Ethics: Uphold all St. Francis Area Schools expectations, MSHSL out-of-season coaching regulations, the Coaches Code of Ethics, and conference sportsmanship guidelines.
- Communication & Administration: Maintain regular communication with the Activities Director, complete required post-season reporting, coordinate certificate needs with the athletic administrative assistant, and actively support student-athlete recruitment at the high school level.
- Professional Development: Complete all required district Vector Training modules and mandatory MSHSL coach safety training.
- Community Representation: Act as a positive ambassador for St. Francis High School within the school environment and broader community; fulfill other duties as assigned.
