Start Your Online Application Now Hutchinson Public Schools is looking for an English Language Learner (ELL) Education Assistant & Student Supervisor at the Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year and beyond. The ELL Education Assistant works in close cooperation with a team of ELL teachers and interpreters providing academic and language assistance to ensure a successful educational experience. The ELL Education Assistant will provide classroom support for English learner students. T his position will work 6.5 hours per day from 7:30am - 2:30pm, 171 days per school year. This includes 6 hours each day as an ELL Education Assistant and 30 minutes each day as a Student Supervisor. The Student Supervisor monitors students during non-classroom activities (lunch), ensuring that school rules are followed to maintain student safety. Candidates proficient in a second language, preferably Spanish, are encouraged to apply. The salary range for this position is $19.64 per hour - $22.14 per hour. Salary is dependent upon education and experience. Responsibilities: Develop strong professional relationships with ELL students and their families. Maintain confidentiality standards by adhering to the district''s data privacy policy. Conferring and planning with teachers and other district staff to recommend ideas, identify problems, and aid in problem-solving. Help to reinforce teachings of the classroom teacher by working with students on a one to-one basis or in small groups. Help students to strengthen language and grade-level content skills to become more independent. Help the classroom teacher with recordkeeping of the student''s progress. Conducts informal assessments to measure students'' mastery of learned materials as directed by the classroom teacher. Attend meetings and in-service for staff development. Follow suggestions made by classroom teachers, principal, and others who may provide staff development. Ability to provide verbal interpretation and written translation services as needed across the district including during the school day, during school events such as Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences, Family Night, etc is preferred. Provide supervision during lunch.
