Long-term Substitute Teacher for Middle School and Upper School Spanish Reports To: Head of Middle School Position Overview Marshall School seeks a dynamic and versatile educator to teach Middle School and Upper School Spanish from January 11, 2027 - June 11, 2027. The successful candidate will possess a love for adolescents, a passion for the Spanish language and culture, and a commitment to student-centered education. Marshall?s collaborative, students-centered environment requires a strong desire to work closely with students and colleagues in and out of the classroom. In addition to teaching Spanish courses, the successful candidate will also advise a small group of students overseeing academic progress, providing support and encouragement, and helping plan and ensure progress in grade-level programs. Marshall educators advise clubs, participate in activities, and support the extracurricular life of the school. They also support the school?s mission emphasizing global citizenship, academic habits, and core values and play a significant role in developing curriculum and programs. The school welcomes candidates with a strong sense of teamwork, a facility with educational technology, and a desire to help shape young adults who will make a difference in the world. Marshall School is a K?12 independent day and boarding school overlooking Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota. For more than 120 years, Marshall has inspired lifelong learners to embrace challenge and create positive change. This position is a Middle School Faculty position and includes these essential duties and responsibilities. Qualifications and Salary Required Qualifications: ? A bachelor?s degree (or equivalent) ? A love for teaching young adolescents, a passion for the Spanish language and culture and a commitment to student-centered education. ? A strong desire to work closely with students and colleagues in and out of the classroom. Preferred Qualifications: ? 2 + years prior teaching experience ? A master?s degree is preferred.
