High School (9th-12th Grade) Bilingual Paraprofessional (English/Spanish) Litchfield Public Schools (ISD 465) Start Date: open Application Deadline: Open Until Filled Interview Dates: To Be Determined Litchfield Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Bilingual Paraprofessional (English/Spanish) to join our team for the 2026?2027 school year. This position supports multilingual learners by providing academic and language development assistance, helping students access instruction, and fostering meaningful communication between students, families, and school staff. The Bilingual Paraprofessional works collaboratively with classroom teachers, English Learner (EL) staff, and families to promote student achievement, language acquisition, and positive school engagement. Required Qualifications Fluency in both spoken and written English and Spanish. Knowledge of instructional practices and strategies that support multilingual learners. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, families, and staff from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Experience working with children, families, or diverse communities preferred. Successful completion of the Paraeducator Assessment, or possession of an associate''s degree, bachelor''s degree, or equivalent qualifying credentials. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Essential Responsibilities Provide academic and language support to multilingual learners in individual, small-group, and classroom settings. Reinforce instruction and learning objectives under the direction of licensed teachers. Assist students in developing English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Support students in understanding classroom expectations, assignments, and directions. Adapt and prepare instructional materials as directed by licensed staff. Collaborate with EL teachers, classroom teachers, interventionists, and other support personnel to meet student needs. Facilitate communication between school staff and Spanish-speaking students and families through interpretation and translation as appropriate. Build positive relationships with students and families while fostering a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. Assist with the administration of language proficiency assessments and data collection as directed. Maintain student and staff confidentiality and adhere to all district, state, and federal data privacy requirements. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and training opportunities as assigned.
