Position Purpose: To assist the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach in leading a competitive and educational basketball program that promotes athletic excellence, academic achievement, teamwork, and personal growth among student-athletes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach in developing and implementing practice plans that focus on advanced basketball skills, team strategy, and game preparation. Provide individualized coaching and feedback to enhance player performance and confidence. Help plan and execute in-game strategies, substitutions, and adjustments. Support scouting of opponents and film review to aid player and team development. Foster a culture of respect, discipline, accountability, and sportsmanship within the program. Supervise athletes during all team activities, including practices, games, travel, and events. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff about schedules, expectations, and team updates. Assist in monitoring player academic progress and eligibility. Help maintain and organize equipment, uniforms, and program resources. Attend and participate in coaches'' meetings, clinics, and professional development as required. Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes both on and off the court. Assume Head Coach responsibilities when the Head Coach is unavailable. Ensure compliance with all school, conference, and state athletic association regulations. Qualifications: Previous high school or collegiate coaching and/or playing experience preferred. Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, offensive and defensive concepts, and game management. Ability to motivate, mentor, and connect with student-athletes. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Reports To: Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach / Athletic Director Salary: $4,904.00.00 per season. Posted September 24, 2026.
