Summary Northland Community School is seeking a licensed teacher to fill a long-term assignment as English Language Arts Teacher for grades 9-12. This role is essential in ensuring that students receive a high-quality education during the absence of the regular teacher. The ideal candidate will have a background in English Language Arts. Newly licensed teachers are welcome to apply! This assignment begins on approximately December 12, 2026 through the end of the school year. Responsibilities - Deliver engaging and effective lessons while adhering to the curriculum and educational standards. - Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, quizzes, and assignments. - Provide individualized support to students to enhance their understanding of the material and improve their skills. - Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for reading and writing. - Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and classroom activities. - Collaborate with other educators to develop and implement interdisciplinary projects and initiatives. - Maintain classroom management and discipline in accordance with school policies. - Prepare and organize instructional materials and resources for lessons. - Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and other school events as required. - Complete all necessary administrative tasks, including grading, record-keeping, and lesson planning. Requirements - Valid teaching license preferably in English Language Arts (or eligibility for certification). - Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred. - Knowledge of English language arts curriculum and instructional strategies. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students. - Proficiency in using technology for teaching and classroom management. - Organizational skills and attention to detail. - Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Salary: Long-Term Sub rate of $199.26 per day.
