POSITION TITLE: School Counselor - Grades K-4 REPORTS TO: Elementary (K-4) Principal Position Objective: The School Counselor works to address all students'' academic, career and social/emotional development needs by designing, implementing, evaluating and enhancing a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student success and aligns with the mission, vision, and pillars of DaVinci Academy. Principal Responsibilities: Direct Student Services: Individual student success in the classroom and goal setting Provides short-term group and individual counseling to students Provides resources for teachers to integrate character education instruction into the classroom. Teaches lessons as identified by classroom or school level needs Responds to mental health and behavioral crisis Indirect Student Services: Data analysis to identify student issues needs and challenges as well as evaluating program effectiveness Makes referrals for long-term support Collaborates with families/teachers/administrators/community for student success Communicate regularly with families via phone, email, and in-person meetings as needed Advocates for students at student-focused meetings, including, but not limited to Student Intervention Team, Behavior Team, and Individual Education Program, and 504 Plan meetings Participates in Student Success Team, Student Intervention Team, Crisis Team, Mental Health Team, PBIS team, and other teams/committees as needed Coordinates school-wide character education initiatives in collaboration with the student success team Support community-wide initiatives and events Provide professional development for staff on wellness, SEL, and tools for supporting students Collaborate with school-based mental health provider through Lee Carlson Assist in envisioning the growth and development of the comprehensive school counseling program Support student arrivals and dismissals daily Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Master''s degree and state licensure required Demonstrated experience as a school counselor Demonstrated understanding of the ASCA national model Effectively communicate with students, staff, administrators, parents and the community Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to identify, interpret and follow school policies and procedures Commitment to equity and demonstrated ability to work with students with diverse backgrounds and needs Show initiative and function as a self-starter Commitment to professional development in the field of counseling Physical demands: able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, frequent bending, and ability to lift up to 50# Position Information: Salary Range : The 2026-2027 salary range for In-House Substitutes is $42,024 to $79,568.00. Salary offers will consider the candidate''s experience, education, skills, and DaVinci Academy''s budget. Experienced candidates should expect a salary offer around the midpoint of the salary range. In exceptional cases, salaries exceeding the midpoint may be offered to attract candidates for hard-to-fill positions or those with specialized skills. Such decisions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
