The ideal candidate will be responsible for various cleaning and maintenance tasks across the district, ensuring that our facilities are ready for educational activities and extracurricular events. ASSIGNMENT: Non-Certified, On-Call MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: * Event Setups: Timely preparation and setup for extracurricular activities and events. * Cleaning Classrooms: Responsible for trash removal, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces such as blackboards/whiteboards, windows, desks, countertops, and other classroom areas. * Bathroom Sanitation: Includes trash removal, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing sinks, toilets, urinals, partitions, and mirrors, along with restocking supplies as needed. * Cleaning Common Areas: Responsible for maintaining cleanliness in hallways, gyms, and commons through trash removal, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and general upkeep. * Summer Cleaning: Engages in thorough cleaning activities during the summer, including mopping, stripping, sealing, waxing floors, dusting, and cleaning electronic equipment and furniture. * Additional Maintenance Tasks: Involves basic repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, adjusting locker combinations, and fixing furniture. CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE: * Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Proficient in operating cleaning machines and equipment. * Familiar with safety protocols for handling cleaning products. * Capable of using various manual cleaning tools and general machinery. * Competent in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. * Strong communication skills for interacting with staff and management. * Flexibility to work various shifts and late hours as needed. * Physical stamina to perform repetitive motions, lift up to 50 pounds, and navigate various surfaces. WORKING CONDITIONS: * Variable noise levels with no continuous exposure to hazardous noise. * Occasional exposure to heights, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, chemicals, and bodily fluids. * Proper safety protocols and lifting techniques must be followed. SUPERVISION OF OTHER EMPLOYEES: This position does not involve the supervision of other district employees. JOB OUTCOMES: * Exhibits a positive, respectful attitude towards students, staff, and community members. * Maintains a clean and safe environment, enhancing pride in the school. * Supports educational programs through effective facility management. * Identifies and reports maintenance issues to mitigate major repair costs. * Promotes safety and prevents accidents. * Secures buildings against vandalism and theft. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. * Experience: Previous custodial or related experience is preferred but not required.
