OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST Rochester Beacon Academy is seeking a full time or part time occupational therapist for the 2025-2026 school year. Rochester Beacon Academy (RBA) is a 6th-12th grade charter school that places a strong emphasis on providing individualized attention to students. The school has small class sizes, allowing teachers to provide students with focused and personalized instruction. RBA also has a special focus on serving students with special education needs, with close to 80% of the student body receiving such services. The administration and staff are dedicated to providing these students with the support and resources they need to succeed in school and beyond. RBA has a caring and compassionate culture, with teachers and staff committed to creating a safe, joyful and inclusive learning environment. Your job responsibilities includes but are not limited to: * Conduct evaluations to assess students&#8217; fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-care abilities, and other areas impacting school performance. * Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations for individualized education plans (IEPs) or 504 plans. * Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to develop student-specific goals and accommodations. * Develop and implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to enhance student participation in school activities. * Provide direct and consultative therapy services in individual, small-group, or classroom settings. * Support students in developing fine and gross motor skills, handwriting, self-regulation, and adaptive behaviors. * Train students in assistive technology and adaptive equipment use as needed. * Work closely with teachers, special educators, speech therapists, physical therapists, counselors, and parents to ensure a coordinated approach to student support. * Educate school staff on best practices for accommodating students with sensory and motor challenges. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, evaluations, and progress reports. * Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required. * Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to special education services. * Stay current with best practices, research, and continuing education in school-based occupational therapy. * Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in accordance with professional guidelines. Qualifications: * Master&#8217;s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. * Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist. * Experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting is preferred. * Strong communication and collaboration skills. * Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment. * Ability to create and implement individualized treatment plans.
