SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Rochester Beacon Academy is seeking a full time or part time speech therapist for the 2025-2026 school year.
Rochester Beacon Academy (RBA) is a 6th-12th grade charter school that places a strong emphasis on providing individualized attention to students. The school has small class sizes, allowing teachers to provide students with focused and personalized instruction. RBA also has a special focus on serving students with special education needs, with close to 80% of the student body receiving such services. The administration and staff are dedicated to providing these students with the support and resources they need to succeed in school and beyond.

Your job responsibilities includes but are not limited to:
Provides speech therapy services to students and initiates referrals when appropriate and in accordance with the school wide procedures.
Conducts screening of students at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.
Evaluates students to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation.
Develops appropriate programming to maintain and enhance the performance of the residents in their own environment.
Perform all other duties as assigned and as required to effectively discharge the responsibilities of the position and are in the best interests of the organization.
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, and communication skills.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
Provide therapy sessions focusing on improving articulation, fluency, voice quality, and language comprehension.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other healthcare providers to support patient progress.
Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and treatment outcomes.
Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech therapy.
Educate students and families about speech disorders and the therapeutic process.
Teaching Certification (Preferred)
Special Education Certification (Preferred)
Qualifications:
A degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field is required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pediatric care is essential.
Familiarity with assessment tools and techniques for diagnosing speech disorders.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students of all ages.
Previous experience working in school settings is a plus.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year based on experience and qualifications
