POSITION SUMMARY
STRIDE Academy is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide direct and consultative speech and language services to qualifying students in grades K-8 beginning in the 2025-26 school year. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders, including challenges related to language, articulation, fluency, and voice. This role is essential in supporting students' academic success by ensuring effective communication strategies and interventions are in place.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Provide direct instruction and intervention for students with speech and language needs as outlined in their IEPs (Individualized Education Plans).
● Conduct speech and language assessments to determine eligibility and service needs.
● Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring compliance with MN state criteria.
● Serve as case manager for assigned students, coordinating services, documentation, and parent communication.
● Consult and collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to implement effective communication strategies in the classroom.
● Attend and facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring families are informed and engaged in the process.
● Complete third-party billing documentation for MA-eligible students.
● Maintain accurate records and reports related to evaluations, progress monitoring, and due process compliance.
● Provide professional development and guidance to staff on speech-language interventions and assistive communication devices.
● Stay informed on best practices, special education laws, and emerging trends in speech-language pathology.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Valid Minnesota Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License is required.
● CCC Certification preferred (stipend available).
● Experience working with K-8 students in a school setting is preferred.
● Strong understanding of IEP development, data-driven decision-making, and special education procedures.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
● Ability to integrate assistive technology and communication support into student learning plans.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000+, with potential for higher compensation based on experience, professional credentials, and qualifications.
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement (TRA), and professional development opportunities.
Sign-on Bonus: $5000 bonus distributed over two-years
Stipend: $2000 yearly stipend for CCC Certification
