Loyola Catholic School in Mankato, MN is seeking a full-time Preschool Assistant Teacher (Paraprofessional) for the 2025-2026 school year. This role supports the academic, behavioral, and emotional growth of preschool students by assisting the Preschool Lead teacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the preschool teacher with the daily needs of the classroom.
- Educate children 5 years or younger to help prepare them for school.
- Teach basic learning concepts, such as numbers, colors, and shapes.
- Develop their social, motor, and language skills.
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with children or young adults in an educational or support role.
Understanding of child development and behavior management strategies.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing disposition.
Willingness to work with young students.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Postsecondary coursework in education, child development, psychology, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a student support role is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Position may require lifting, standing for extended periods, or supporting students with physical needs.
Schedule aligned with the academic calendar.
