Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Instruction and Curriculum Development: Develop and implement lesson plans and a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with educational standards, covering music theory, history, and instrumental techniques.
  • Ensemble Direction: Conduct and lead rehearsals for various orchestra ensembles (beginner through advanced), preparing students for school concerts, community performances, and competitions.
  • Student Evaluation and Feedback: Assess student progress and performance through formal and informal testing, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment conducive to the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Instrument and Equipment Management: Maintain an organized inventory of all music and school-owned instruments, ensuring their proper care, storage, and repair as needed.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, and colleagues. Collaborate with other music educators and staff to enhance the overall music program.
