INSTRUCTIONAL PARAPROFESSIONAL POOL
Central Public Schools – 2026–2027 School Year
WORK DAY/YEAR: Up to 7 hours per day (school year position)
LOCATION: Central Public Schools (elementary and/or secondary assignments)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of Student Services
SALARY: In accordance with master agreement (based on experience)
BENEFITS: Benefits available based on position and hours
POSITION TYPE: Non-licensed
Central Public Schools is accepting applications for Instructional Paraprofessionals for the 2026–2027 school year. This posting is intended to build a pool of qualified candidates for current and future openings throughout the school year.
Assignments may include working in general education classrooms, special education settings, or providing individualized student support.
Position Overview
Instructional paraprofessionals play a critical role in supporting student learning and success. This position works closely with teachers and support staff to assist students academically, socially, and behaviorally.
Paraprofessionals may support individual students, small groups, or classrooms, depending on student needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
- Ability to support basic academic instruction (reading, writing, math)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with students of varying needs and abilities
- Experience working with students with special needs preferred, but not required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to students individually or in small groups
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and implementation of lessons
- Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and structured learning environment
- Assist with supervision during non-instructional times as needed
- Follow direction from licensed staff and support student plans as assigned
