(FTE 1.0) LOCATION(S): Districtwide Description: The Interventionist will provide direct instructional interventions for qualifying students, manage the data about students from whom intervention is provided, and collaborate with teachers and parents regarding students'' qualification, progress resulting from interventions, and exiting the program. Job Summary: Tasks involved in fulfilling the above duty/responsibility: Determine appropriate intervention Implement intervention with fidelity Adjust intervention in response to student data Confer with the classroom teacher and or/PLC Communicate with parents for program entrance, progress, and exit Communicate with Title and Problem Solving Team Schedule students and small groups to receive interventions Determine students eligible for and facilitate the MTSS process Record and analyze intervention data, including progress monitoring and intervention adjustments Monitor eligibility for exit Submit records in compliance with district and state guidelines Other duties as assigned per guidelines Essential Knowledge and specialized subject knowledge required to perform the essential functions of the job: Working knowledge of academic and social skills commensurate with the student''s age and developmental level. The ability to research and implement individual interventions based on a student''s needs. Understanding of data collection and analysis methods Qualifications: A valid MN Teaching License Interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well with others, be polite, helpful, courteous and compassionate Conflict resolution skills, team player and professional demeanor Classroom management skills Knowledge and understanding of child find and the MTSS Framework Ability to consistently and effectively design instructional activities for students, and to make adjustments in teaching strategies to meet individual needs Ability to work with a wide variety of students in a calm, patient, understanding, creative, flexible, student-centered environment Skill in planning, organizing and writing student intervention plans in a multi-disciplinary team within timeline constraints Ability to utilize instructional and assistive technologies Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability to follow directives from supervisors Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information at all times Experience with and a proven passion for working with urban youth and an unshakeable believe in their potential Experience with restorative practices preferred The duties of this position may change from time to time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb steps, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally may have to lift a student who could weigh over 100 pounds. The employee must be willing to be trained in and use de-escalation/restraint techniques for managing crisis situations. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
