Position Overview East Central School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time K-12 Instrumental Band/Music Teacher for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. This position plays a vital role in fostering musical proficiency, academic achievement, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Key Responsibilities Instruction: Design and implement high-quality instrumental music lessons and band rehearsals for students in grades K-12. Curriculum Development: Prepare course objectives and outlines following state standards and district guidelines. Student Recruitment: Actively recruit and retain students for the instrumental program. Performances: Coordinate and direct concert band performances, pep band, marching band and other ensembles throughout the school year. Assessment: Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing regular feedback and maintaining accurate academic records. Collaboration: Participate in staff meetings, department work, and parent-teacher conferences to support student growth. Environment: Maintain a safe, positive, and highly motivating learning environment that encourages musical risk-taking and excellence. Qualifications Licensure: Valid Minnesota teaching license in K-12 Instrumental Music (or a willingness to obtain licensure) is required. Skills: Proficiency in a wide range of band instruments. Professionalism: Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Salary & Benefits Compensation and benefits are determined per the Teachers Master Agreement.
