Parent Educator Hours/Day: 1.0 FTE Days/Year: 184 Compensation & Benefits: Burnsville Education Association Primary Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Early Childhood Programs Coordinator, the parent educator ECFE teacher is responsible for the development, planning, and implementation of ECFE classes. The parent educator teacher will provide Early Childhood and Family Education programs and services for children birth to pre-kindergarten. he Early Childhood parent educator teacher will support a continuum of programs to support the healthy growth and development of students and families through successful collaboration within the district and the community as a whole, including the planning and implementation of parent/child interaction programming. ECFE parent educator teacher essential duties and responsibilities include: Understanding of ECFE goals, objectives and philosophy Knowledge of trends, curriculum models, resources and methods in the field Work cooperatively with program and administrative staff, program coordinator, and peers in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the program Prepare and implement developmentally appropriate instruction for all classes Attend all scheduled staff meetings, professional development, planning sessions, courses, conferences, etc. Develop knowledge about community agencies and services and assist families in finding appropriate resources Assist and support ECFE public relation events, including the planning and implementation of special event activities Support colleagues in all phases of the program by conferring on a regular basis Actively encourage and embrace each member of the school community Continually work to understand your own assumptions and biases and how they impact the learning environment Work cooperatively with program and administrative staff, program coordinator, and peers in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the program Assist and support home visits Education and License Requirements: B.A. or B.
