This position is 8 hours/day on student contact days plus an additional 4 PD days to align with teacher PD days. Pay rate $25/hr Candidates that successfully complete the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification will receive an additional $1/hr. Candidates who obtain a short call sub license will receive an additional $1/hr. Job Summary and Duties: Work with students, under the direction of certified staff, to manage behavior through interventions, positive behavior supports, and strategies as outlined in the IEP if applicable. Registered Behavior Technician (district will provide certification and supervision): Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will implement behavior intervention plans, provide direct support to students, and collaborate closely with teachers and other school staff as needed to ensure consistency and effectiveness in behavior management strategies. Stay updated on best practices, research findings, and relevant regulations in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) through ongoing professional development activities and training opportunities. Uphold ethical practices outlined in the RBT Ethics Code (2.0). Behavior Management: Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to provide proactive and reactive evidence based strategies to help manage challenging behaviors such as but not limited to: Functional communication training Support in teaching and modeling replacement behaviors Utilizing reinforcement and reward systems (such as token economy systems) Determine the function of student behavior by taking valuable data Help implement behavior intervention plans with fidelity Perform and document the district approved restraint methods, as well as participate in crisis intervention training provided by the district. Respond to behavior calls as needed for special education students. Special Education Program Support/Development: Assist in implementing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on data collection and collaborating with teachers, school psychologists, and the BCBA as needed. Effective communication with teachers, special education staff, and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate interventions and ensure consistency in behavior management across various settings within the school environment. Ensure data storage is organized, secure, and confidential. Professional Development: Attend monthly trainings provided by the student support team Be present to cover 5% of student contact hours supervised by the BCBA Qualifications/Experience/Skills: Bachelor''s degree in psychology, education, special education, or other related field preferred. Already have, or will be willing to obtain, a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Previous experience working with children with behavioral challenges, preferably in a school or clinical setting. Basic understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Proficiency in data collection and analysis techniques. Conflict resolution skills Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic school environment with varying student needs and challenges. Working in a diverse community of learners. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, use stairs, get up and down from off the floor, all with ease. Job will be physically demanding at times. Flexibility regarding working with students of different disabilities and diagnosis (ASD, EBD, ADHD, DD, etc.). NVCI (preferred, willing to obtain) Maintain confidentiality of students and families Other duties as assigned.
