Experience and knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent required Current CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain Previous experience working with children in a school, healthcare, childcare, or related setting preferred Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm, caring, and professional when responding to student health needs Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive student information Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered care Ability to work effectively as part of a school health and student support team Duties and Responsibilities Assist the school nurse with daily health office operations and student health needs. Provide basic first aid and routine student care under the direction and supervision of the school nurse. Monitor students who are ill or injured and promptly communicate concerns to the school nurse. Assist with medication procedures as permitted by law, school policy, and assigned responsibilities. Maintain accurate student health records and health-related documentation as directed. Assist with health screenings and other school health activities. Help organize and maintain health office supplies, equipment, and materials. Communicate appropriately with students, families, teachers, administrators, and school staff regarding student health needs. Support students with routine health-related needs while promoting dignity, independence, and a safe school environment. Assist the school nurse during health-related emergencies and follow established emergency procedures. Maintain confidentiality of student medical and educational information. Follow all applicable school policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the school nurse or school administration.
